Deciding to get professional treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) or alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a brave step toward lasting health. But what kind of care do you need, and where should you go?
The experienced professionals at Sobriety Centers of New Hampshire (SCNH) believe in removing the barriers to treatment. Whether you’re a working parent who can’t go away to rehab, a person needing medically supervised detoxification to begin healing, or a Veteran or first responder in search of quality care from people who truly understand your specific needs, SCNH offers you the power to choose your recovery path.
Our Addiction Treatment Programs
The mission of SCNH is to support and guide individuals to a healthier, happier life free of addiction, while also offering healing for all affected by this disease. We have three treatment centers with board-certified specialists offering an evidence-based and holistic approach to wellness.
Antrim House
Based on a private, wooded campus in Antrim, this 21-bed detoxification and residential treatment facility for men and women offers comprehensive individual counseling, group counseling, and medication monitoring. Our licensed professionals address addiction to alcohol and a multitude of substances and design a safe, graduated level of detoxification to support the transition into early recovery.
Our trauma-informed treatment approach helps you build awareness and resilience in your journey. Your specific continuum of care plan might also include 12-step oriented workshops, SMART Recovery workshops, life skills, didactic presentations, and off-site therapeutic excursions.
There’s a deliberate focus on proper nutrition and whole foods and integrative wellness programs to help you create a habit of healthy living that sustains your chosen lifestyle. You’re also introduced to other aftercare and relapse prevention planning techniques to sustain your progress.
Recovery Mountain
Located in Tilton, this is a specialized residence for Veterans and first responders as part of intensive outpatient programming (IOP). Through Tactical Recovery—a united effort with the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Network and PsychArmor—we offer culturally competent addiction treatment to these special populations. With a focus on individualized care and evidence-based treatment modalities, this program offers detoxification, dual diagnosis treatment, group counseling and therapy, individual therapy, and other supportive services.
Tara Rivera, SCNH’s business development representative, states that Veterans and first responders “see, hear, and experience things that most of us don’t know about and couldn’t endure—and they do that over years and sometimes decades. It takes a long time and a safe space to begin to unpack and heal from those traumatic experiences. When you’re in a culturally competent place, you can begin to do just that.” This is our goal for you at Recovery Mountain.
The Lakes
Based in Laconia, The Lakes offers partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient rehabilitation programs for men and women led by licensed and certified addiction recovery specialists. When you recognize that you need professional help with SUD or AUD, an outpatient program may serve as your initial lifeline to recovery, especially since most people are able to balance treatment with other responsibilities such as family and work. It’s also a wonderful option to transition from residential care after 30 or 60 days into an outpatient program to reinforce your wellness goals.
What can you expect from SCNH’s outpatient addiction treatment? The structure is similar to our inpatient offerings, including:
- A multi-faceted therapeutic approach, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy, group therapy, and trauma-informed therapy
- Substance misuse education
- Dual diagnosis treatment
- 12-Step, SMART, and other mutual aid support programs
- Nutrition and fitness counseling
- Family-focused services
- Recovery skills and relapse prevention planning
The Lakes is for individuals looking for a more flexible option to fit within their everyday life, especially when evening and weekend sessions are common. Outpatient treatment is often more affordable, too—but the reduced cost doesn’t mean less quality of care. You can still expect high-quality, evidence-based treatment.
